Make an Appointment

A woman considers what to expect during her first pregnancy appointment.

Getting a positive pregnancy test can feel like a big deal, especially if you’re still considering what you want to do.

You don’t need to have a decision made before your first prenatal appointment. Your first appointment is primarily about learning more about your pregnancy and your overall health.

We offer free and confidential pregnancy services to those facing unplanned pregnancies. Contact us today to receive a free pregnancy test or ultrasound.

What Happens at the Appointment?

Your provider will ask you questions similar to those at any women’s wellness visit: date of your last period, your health history, medications, and any previous pregnancies.

They’ll check your blood pressure and weight and may ask about any symptoms you’ve been having.

You may also be asked to provide a urine sample to confirm the pregnancy. Depending on your estimate of how far along the pregnancy is, you may also get a transvaginal ultrasound to check that the pregnancy is progressing.

What If I’m Considering Abortion?

You can make an appointment even if you haven’t decided what you want to do because it can give you a baseline that may affect your decision.

Your provider can review your medical history, medications, symptoms, and pregnancy dates and check for anything that may need attention.

For example, an ultrasound can confirm whether the pregnancy is located inside the uterus. If the ultrasound reveals an ectopic pregnancy, this means an elective abortion would not be an appropriate procedure.

What Next?

Bringing your ID and a list of your medications and supplements is helpful for your visit. Insurance is not required.

If you’re still not feeling quite ready for a prenatal visit but want to confirm important details about your pregnancy, such as the gestational age, we offer free ultrasounds at our center.

No matter what you’re facing, you don’t have to figure everything out before getting information about your pregnancy. Contact us today!
